We decided to fish the lower river on Sat. Clear and cool, fairly windy and that wind was cold! We parked at the Borell power plant and walked down to the river. We fished right around the discharge area, Karen above it, and I went below. Water was about 46 dgrees, and visibility was about 1.5-2 feet. Karen fished with a silver spinner, and I was using a BH Hare's Ear, on a fast sinking head. After about 10 minutes, Karen hooked up with a nice 12" fish, and while she was reeling him in, I hooked up with a fish. After about 25 seconds though, I lost him. I did not get a look at the fish, but he seemed pretty strong, taking off on a short run downriver, then turning and coming back up. We fished the area a while longer, then moved upsteam a bit. No further takers. I was wearing my waders, so I was able to cross the river, and went back to the pool at the discharge. I fished there for another 45 minutes, and not a single bite. Tried a few different flies- Olive Matuka, BH Pheasant Tail, Black Wooly Bugger. We decided to try near Miracle. The area was too crowded for us however, so we went further down. Drove down a small spur road to the river, and found some nice looking water. After abbout an hour with no action, we called it a day. Matt
