Date Fished 05/16/03
Lake George (Mammoth Lakes) - I fished in the early morning at various locations around the lake. Again, I waded out into shallow areas of the lake to fish with my five weight rod. The fishing was not as productive as the previous evening when I had fished. I tried fishing with different streamer patterns. Patterns used were twin lakes specials, matukas and woolybuggers. Hiking around the lake to fish was an experience in itself. There was still quite a bit of snow around the southern portion of the lake. Crossing snow bridges over stream inlets and boulders was common. During the three hours of fishing, I landed nine fish. It was surprising that of these nine, five were brook trout. The largest of these brook trout measured ten inches.
