Fished the Keyesville area on the 1st. This was the first fish (for us) of '04, however, it is as of now, the ONLY fish of '04 (yet). Fished for a while right under the bridge just before the Bodfish turnoff, a large pool with a nice little riffle leading into it. I got this nice 15" fish on a Firetiger Needlefish. Went upstream a little further, right below the raft launch, found several nice areas, but no fish caught. We went to Miracle/Hobo on the 2nd, lots of people fishing, lots of people catching fish, all of them on bait, salmon eggs and powerbait. Saw a man and his two daughters land about 8, right at the big pool at the end of the Miracle parking lot. I fished the springs area, but could not entice any fish. Olive Matuka, Hare's Ear, Prince, Egg Socking Leech, no takers. We moved upstream through the campground, repeating our non-success, while watching others fishing bait catching fish. Cold and overcast, water temp was 46 degrees, visibility about 2 feet. Karen was fishing spinners and also not getting a thing. Not gonna keep us from trying though. Matt
